On Saturday 24th November, demonstrations were held across the UK to show solidarity with the people of Gaza, in the wake of the latest round of Israeli aggression against them. In London, about 15,000 people gathered, demanding an end to such aggression and an end to the siege. Among them were several THJFA members and our guests Yousef Awad and Talal Dweikat, who gave speeches the protestors. You can find Yousef’s speech here on YouTube. (Thanks to counterfire for posting)

Join us – Monday 26th November at 7.30pm at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, London E2 6HG for our public meeting,
Check out the poster for the event here.
This major event took place on 2 November at Durham University. One of the organisers, Guy Shennan, is a member of the THJFA, and a number of social workers in Jenin have been involved in the development of the link. Guy will be producing a report of the event which we hope to have on the website in the near future.
The Rights Faculty in the Arab American University in Jenin organized, with the cooperation of their law students, a meeting to discuss Israeli violations of international law and international agreements which take place in the Palestinian territories. The meeting was attended by both faculty and students.
During the meeting, the importance of documenting Israeli violations was noted, and representatives of the Arab Law Students’ Association expressed their desire to live in a just society ruled by law and justice. Israel does not live up to its obligations under international law as an occupying force, and the Students’ Association has decided to launch a campaign to defend the human rights of Palestinians.
